How to make amazing Chili oil. Chili oil or hot oil as its also called is an essential condiment not only in Chinese cuisine but also in most Asian countries. The intense flavor and spiciness of a good chili oil goes great with most Asian dishes and is a must-have on dumplings and in soups. But seriously Chili oil works on almost everything, it instantly makes instant ramen, and rice dishes so much better, and chili oil is even great on pasta and pizza. You cannot go wrong when you have a jar of hot oil in your kitchen or even in your bag ;). Make a big batch when your cooking hot oil because it will finish faster then you think, trust me.

Ingredients for this amazing chili oil
60 grams of chili flakes
10 cloves of garlic
1 tsp salt
300 ML oil
4 star-anise
2 pods of cardamom
3 tsp of Chinese peppercorns
1 tsp Chinese vinegar

How to make this spicy hot oil

Mix together the chili flakes, salt, and garlic. Add the anise, cardamom, and peppercorn to the oil. Bring up to a temp of 110 degrees Celsius and let sit there for 20 minutes. Strain out the spices and slowly pour the warm oil over the chili and garlic, stir it gently and let sit to cool down some. Add 1 tsp of Chinese vinegar to the chili oil and then pour the oil into jars.
