Ingredients :
Can of dark red kidney beans 540 mls about 8 oz
Can of back Beans 540 mls about 18 oz
Jar of chili sauce 350 mls about 12 oz
Can of diced tomatoes 796 mls about 26-27 oz
1 medium onion
1 large green pepper
1 container of mushrooms 227g or 8 oz
lean ground beef 1 lb or 453.59 gams
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp of onion powder
2 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of chili flakes or red pepper flakes
2 tsp of chili powder
2-3 tspof cumin powder
2 tsp of smoked paprika
2 table spoons of olive oil
Method
wash and chop your veggies
Dice up your onions, large dice your green pepper
slice your mushrooms
Turn instant pot on the saute mode
drizzle with olive oil about 2 table spoons
add your onions and saute until softened ( 1/2 teas of salt would help sweat the onions)
you can add all your spices to bloom them at this point if you like . I know I didn’t do that in video but it would be nice to bloom them
after about 30 seconds of blooming your spices add your meat and keep breaking the meat up with wooden spoon to make it all crumbly.
after a few minutes like 8 minutes you are ready for next steps
add the rest of your veggies and stir through meat
Add your diced tomatoes and jar of chili sauce rinse each canbottle out with almost 1/2 can of water to make sure there is enough liquid to pressure cook
now you can strain and wash off your both cans of beans and add them to the pot steering completely
turn off your saute mode
put lid on instant pot
make sure in sealing position
turn on bean chili button if you don’t have bean chili button press your manual button or your pressure cook button
pressure cook on high for 22 minutes
then let naturally release for 10 minutes
open pressure valve
when pin drops open lid
turn off keep warm cancel button
turn back on your saute mode if you would like to thicken the chili
wait for it to start boiling then make a slurry to add
slurry is 1 tsp of corn starch and 1 tsp of water mix together until smooth and add to chili and shut off
SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
