How To Cook Australian Beef Chili With Kids

Preparing dinner for the family with your kids around can be hectic, so Hattem Mattar from the Mattar Farm came up with some fun ways to get the kids involved whilst making something seriously tasty using the best Australian beef mince!

How To Make The Best Beef Chili

Ingredients:

500g Australian beef mince
1000g tomato passata
135g tomato paste
Salt & pepper
3 medium onions
Cumin powder tbsp
Whole cumin
BBQ sauce
Balsamic vinegar
Dark brown sugar
Cinnamon powder

Method:

Preparing The Chilli Sauce

– Heat up olive oil in a medium pot
– Add whole cumin
– Add whole cinnamon
– Add whole peppercorn
– Brown onions and garlic
– Add minced beef
– Stir fry until browned evenly
– Add fresh green peppers
– Deglaze the pan using balsamic vinegar or worcester sauce
– Add cinnamon, bbq sauce, cumin, strained tomato sauce, brown sugar
– Simmer for 1 hour
– Add beans to the mix
– Simmer for 15-20 mins
– Add dollop of sour cream on top
– Garnish with shredded cheese and coriander

Preparing The Focaccia
– Brush olive oil over the bread
– Lightly toast on a grill
– Serve all together and ENJOY! 😁
