#slowcookermeal, #turkeychili, #roadto1500
Hey everyone welcome back to my channel! Tonight I made some turkey chili, and you guys were not kidding when you said it was good because boy, it sure is! I added canned corn to replace frozen, jarred red roasted peppers (2) to replace a red pepper, and I added black beans and a can of chili beans instead of just 2 can kidney beans. I also used up last of my sauce from previous meal in place of tomato paste, and I added little of the leftover Rotel diced tomatoes with chilies (mild). Here is the original recioe from the cookbook, I did use 2 lbs of ground turkey instead of one, I think it made more as a meal.
2 tbsp vegetable oil, lb ground turkey,3 tbsp tomato paste,2 tbsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, 1/2 tbsp ground cumin, pinch allspice, cooking spray, 2 150z cans diced tomatoes, 2 cans kidney beans drained, 1 cup frozen corn, green onion chopped, 1 red pepper chopped , salt and pepper to taste.
Heat oil in skillet and brown turkey. Drain then add tomato paste, chili powder, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, cumin and allspice and continue cooking on medium heat for 2 more minutes.coat inside of slow cooker with cooking spray and transfer the turkey mixture. Add in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, frozen corn, green onion, red pepper. I also added can black beans drained. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low 8 hours. I only cooked for 3 hours, 2 on high last hour on low. If your slow cooker is older the heating time may take 4 hours. When ready to eat top with sour cream or ranch dressing, or shredded mexican blend cheese.
