Hey World! It’s that time of year again. Cold and wet. As we go through the fall and into the winter of 2020, we all need a comfort food that will see us through the new year.
I believe this (World’s) Best Chili Recipe is that food. With Tropical Storm Zeta dropping the rain(as I type) and throwing the wind, I am very thankful that I made this a couple days ago and have a few bags of it in the Freezer.
I believe this is the absolute (World’s) Best Chili Recipe, and so do the many people I have made it for.
The heat profile in the (World’s) Best Chili Recipe does not come on strong, like some wild man straight out of isolation. It’s subtle, and eases you into the idea of falling in love with it. With each bite, the spiciness gets just a little hotter. And like every good relationship, it plateaus just above the border of boring and crazy.
With enough heat for those who play hop-scotch with the Scoville Scale, and a smooth introduction for those who think two squirts of ketchup is living on the edge, this Chili Recipe is sure to be one you can take home to mama.
World, I invite you to take it for a spin. I invite you to substitute the ground beef for ground almost meat, ground turkey, ground chicken, ground deer, ground elk, ground moose, or any other ground meat(or non-meat) you enjoy.
I have never made a vegan version of this, so if any of you out there do, let us know in the comments!
In fact, everyone who makes this, let us know in the comments how you liked the (World’s) Best Chili Recipe! I can’t wait to hear from you all!

_1 Large(or two small) Green Bell Pepper(Chopped)
_2 Jalapeno Peppers(Thinly Sliced)
_2 Serrano Peppers(Thinly Sliced)
Spices-
_1tablespoon(tbsp) Minced Garlic
_1tbsp Dried Basil
_1teaspoon(tspn) Dried Oregano
_1tspn Ground Black Pepper
_1/2(one-half)tspn Cumin
_1/2tspn Chili Powder
_1/2tspn Paprika
As you are browning your ground beef, begin slicing your Jalapenos and Serranos. Now, when your are slicing these peppers, be sure to wear a glove. Those spicy oils do not feel so pleasant on certain body parts, if you suddenly have the urge to pee during prep, and forget to wash your hands.
Next, slice and chop your onion and bell pepper. Leave these course chopped, because they can get a little mushy if cut too small.
Slice the Hillshire Smoked Beef Sausage, and toss it in with your veggies.
Then, drain and rinse your kidney beans and black beans a couple times. The syrup in those can add too much liquid to the chili and can also add a bland flavor.
Once, your beef is browned, do not drain the grease, unless there’s just a ton of it. Add all your canned goods, and stir it up good. Then, add your veggies and sausage.
Finally, toss in your garlic and spices, and stir.
Then, cover the pot and, turn on a low setting(warm enough to get hot but not so hot as to burn your beans.) I advise starting low, and gradually increasing the temp if you need to.
Set your timer for 3hrs30mins and stir every 10-15 minutes. It won’t take long for the smell to roll through your house, and leave your taste buds watering with anticipation.
If at any time you feel there is too much liquid, just slide the lid over a bit and partially cover, to allow some of the liquid to escape as it cooks off.
