Here’s a great DF GF SF chili with easy ingredients! It tastes just like the chili made from the commercial spice mix. The difference is that with this blend you miss the preservatives. Those same preservatives cause cramping inside my belly 🙁 This is an easy preparation method for a comfy, warm dish on these cold winter days.
You can prepare this in an instapot or crockpot. Prep the meat with onions & garlic, and place everything together into the crock pot and let it cook for 4 hours on low or 2 hours on high.
Ok, enough chit chat … here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs ground meat (I used turkey, but you can use beef, pork or any combo of ground meat)
32 oz. can pureed or diced Tomatoes
8 oz. can drained kidney or tri blend beans
1/2 white onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp Olive Oil
Spice blend:
3 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1/2 tbsp chipotle
1/2 tbsp to 2 tbsp cayenne pepper (depending on your spiciness preference)
Directions:
1. Saute onions & garlic in olive oil until onions are sweating.
2. Add ground meat & spices, brown meat thoroughly.
3. Add canned goods
4. Blend & bring to a boil.
5. Turn down the heat to low, and let simmer for at least an hour.
6. Enjoy!
