Homestyle Mexican Chili Beans Recipe

Easy chili beans recipe with my secret ingredient! This recipe was prepared in a dutch oven pot but can also be made in a slow-cooker.

Ingredients:

1 Lb Lean Ground Beef ( 80% and up)
6 Oz Longaniza or Chorizo
I used longaniza, it has less fat than chorizo
1 Medium Onion
3-4 Jalapenos (substitute with bell pepper for nonspicy)
1 Red Bell Pepper
3 Minced Garlic Cloves
1 Tsp Cumin
1 Tsp Salt & Pepper
2 Tbsp Chili Powder
14 oz Can Diced Tomatoes
1/4 Cup Tomato Paste
Two 15.5 Oz Cans Kidney Beans
Two 14.5 Oz Beef Broth

Instructions:
Cook ground beef and longaniza over Med-high heat for 10-12 Minutes
Add the peppers, onion, and garlic, and cook for an additional five minutes.
Mix in the seasoning, diced tomatoes, tomato paste.
Lastly, add the kidney beans and the beef broth.
Cover cook on low heat for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. If you are using a slow cooker, cook for 4-5 hours.
