2 pounds of beef
3 cans of kidney beans
1 can of petite tomatoes
I small can tomato paste
1/3 cup of chili powder
1/4 tsp of sugar
I use Lawry’s Salt and ground pepper to season the meat
Brown meat in skillet
Add beans to slow cooker, use the bean can to add 3 cans of water to slow cooker
Add tomato, then beef and paste
Finish with sugar and chili powered stir well
This was my first time in the slow cooker usually I use a big pot on the stove. It was more watery than I was use to, however we loved it and it went a long way with another leftover meals for about 3 days.
Heirloom recipes are meals passed down generations in families, across homesteads, and church gatherings, from kitchens of friends or far away cousins.
