People always ask me as a Canadian chef, “What is Canadian Food?” I believe that we are so multi-cultural that it is hard to pin down as many foods as other countries. That being said I think we are still in the process of finding our place in the food world.
A lot of what we have is a Fusion mix of other countries and immigrants that have landed in Canada, and then we are finding ways to make similar dishes and make them our own Canadian food.
Today I have taken a very famous and popular Candian ingredient “MAPLE SYRUP” and put a spin on using it with a popular Asian sauce “SWEET CHILI SAUCE. Maple sweet chili pork ribs
This sauce is so versatile and can be used in so many different ways. In the restaurant world, we call it kitchen crack because it is so delicious.
