In today’s video I’m sharing my family’s favorite slow cooker chili recipe. There is some sautĆ©ing on the stove first but after that I love letting the slow cooker do all the work for me while I can get other things done around the house. Chili Recipe ( I doubled it in the video except for the onion and red pepper)
2 yellow onions, diced
1 medium red pepper, diced
6 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup chili powder
1 tbsp. ground cumin
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 x 800ml can of diced tomato
1 x 400ml can of tomato sauce
1 x 400ml can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
mushrooms, sliced or diced (optional)

Directions
-In large skillet add oil and sautƩ onions, pepper, mushrooms and season with salt. SautƩ about 8 minutes until veggies are softened.
-Add garlic, cumin, and chili powder. Stir to coat veggies and combine well. —–Then add in beef and sautĆ© until it’s cooked through
-Meanwhile add diced tomato, tomato sauce, and beans to slow cooker and stir to combine
-Once beef is cooked add the contents of skillet to the slow cooker and stir to combine
-Then cook on low for 8 hrs. or high for 6 hrs.
