BEEF OR TURKEY CHILI

INGREDIENTS
2LB GROUND BEEF OR TURKEY
I MEDIUM SWEET ONION CHOPPED
1 1/2 TSP OLIVE OIL
2 – 14OZ CANS OF DEL MONTE ZESTY CHILI TOMATOES
2 – 14OZ CANS OF ITALIAN STYLE DICED TOMATOES
2 – 16OZ CANS OF RED KIDNEY BEANS (RINSED,DRAINED, & MASHED)
1 CUP OF WATER
2 TABLESPOON MINCED GARLIC
4 TABLESPOONS CHILI POWDER
1 TSP PAPRIKA
1 TSP DRIED OREGANO
1 TSP CAYENNE PEPPER
1 TSP CUMIN
2 TSP SALT
2 TSP BLACK PEPPER

First brown the meat once that’s done drain all the grease from the meat, put aside. Heat the olive oil and once that’s ready throw your onions in the pot and cook for about five minutes or until somewhat tender and brown. Add meat to the pot with the onions, then add cup of water, tomatoes, and beans. Mix all together then add the rest of your ingredients, mix that well to make sure that everything is well incorporated. Then just let your chili cook for at least 2 hours. Serve with some shredded cheese and sour cream. If you want a extra pop of heat add some Piketu boricua hot sauce or any hot sauce of your choice and ENJOY!!

CORNBREAD RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
2 CUPS OF CORNMEAL
2 CUPS OF ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 1/3 CUPS OF WHITE REGULAR SUGAR
1 TSP SALT
1 TSP BAKING SODA
2 CUPS OF SOUR CREAM
1 CUP MELTED UNSALTED BUTTER
4 EGGS
2 TSP VANILLA EXTRACT OR IMITATION VANILLA

PRE HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, melt butter and let cool aside for a few minutes. In a separate bowl mix eggs, vanilla, sour cream, and butter (once it cools down a bit). Then incorporate the wet ingredients into your dry ingredients and with a hand mixer, mix all ingredients together until smooth. In a 9×13 inch greased pan pour mix and put in oven for 40 minutes. Check to make sure is done by inserting a toothpick and if it comes out dry is good to go serve with the chili and boomchacalaca!! Enjoy my loves.
