Ingredients and procedure for chilli prawns:
Prawns
Spices (1 to 2 tbsp. each) – Garam masala, Cumin (jeera) powder, Coriander (dhaniya) powder, red chilly powder, turmeric (haldi) powder, Fennel (saunf) powder, Mustard seeds (rai), Pepper (kalimiri) powder.
Curry leaves (handful), Green chillies (optional), Cornflour (1 to 2 tbsp), All-purpose flour (maida) (3 to 4 tbsps.), Chopped onion (2 or 3 onions), Vinegar (1 tbsp.) Salt (As per requirement), Water (3 to 4 tbsps.)
Procedure for chilli prawn:
1. Chilli Prawn Marination – Add the prawns in a mixing bowl. To this add all the above listed spices (except mustard seeds), cornflour, all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well. Add 3 to 4 tbsps. Of water to this and mix again. Let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
2. Add oil in a pan. Fry the marinated prawns on medium flame. Keep it aside.
3. In the same pan, add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies (optional) and the chopped onion. Add saunf powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and pepper powder. Add salt and mix well. Let it cook.
4. Add the fried prawns and vinegar. Mix well.
Your Chilli Prawn is ready to serve!
