This vegan chilli sauce is every mushroom lover’s dream come true. You can follow the same recipe for chili gobi or chili potato also. But I personally a big mushroom lover and chilli mushroom is the dish that really gives me satisfies my taste bud.

It is the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, good enough to make your mouth water just by the look of it.

It all started from the Tangra Region in Kolkatta, West Bengal. The region housed many leather tanneries owned and managed by people of Hakka Chinese origin.

Over the years, the area developed as a small Chinatown. And the immigrants started selling Chinese dishes made with locally available ingredients to Indian food lovers. Hence, begin the journey of Indian Chinese #cuisine.

Ingredients:
1. 200 grams mushroom(washed and chopped)
2. 3 teaspoons all-purpose flour
3. 2 teaspoon cornflour
4. 2 teaspoon salt
5. Black pepper powder as per taste
6. Water as required
7. 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
8. Salt as per taste
9. 6/7 Garlic cloves chopped
10. ½ inch ginger grated
11. 1 small capsicum chopped
12. 1 medium-sized onion chopped
13. 2-3 Slited green chilies
14. 1 teaspoon soya sauce
15. 2 tablespoons red chilli sauce
16. 2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
17. 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
18. Cornflour slurry(mixture of 1 tsp cornflour and water)
19. Chopped coriander leaves
20. Refined Oil as per Required

Process:
1. Take a bowl and add cornflour, all-purpose flour, ginger/garlic paste, black pepper powder, salt gradually.

2. Add water to the batter mixture and make a semi-thick batter.

3. Add the washed and chopped mushroom pieces into the batter and coat them well.

4. Now heat oil in kadhai and fry the batter coated mushroom pieces until golden brown.

5. Now heat oil in a kadhai, add chopped garlic, grated ginger, silted green chillies and fry until a nice aroma comes.

6. Add chopped capsicum, chopped onion, and fry for some time. While cooking on high flame as it is a chinese recipe.

7. Add soya sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, vinegar, and mix it properly.
8. Then add salt as per taste, black pepper, and mix.

9. Then add cornflour and water mixture and cook it properly and you will notice mixture became thick and then add the fried mushroom pieces and mix with the sauce nicely.

10. Lastly garnish the hot chili mushroom with chopped coriander leaves.
