Hey Guys! Welcome back to my channel. In this video I make my Prize Winning Chili. Yes it’s prize winning because I won first prize in a Chili Cook-Off at a place that I used to work.
We’ve made homemade chili for generations in my family as a tradition. Most of the Summer holidays and cookouts we cook hamburgers and hotdogs. Those foods have to have chili. The dinner wouldn’t be complete without our homemade chili. It’s better than any that I have ever tasted and I hope y’all will give it a try.
My Prize Winning Chili:
4 1/2 Pounds of Ground Beef
1 Large Onion
4 Cups Water
1/2 Large Bottle Ketchup (1 1/2 pounds)
2 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard
2 Tablespoons Chili-O
2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Cumin
2 Tablespoons Rubbed Sage
1 Teaspoon Accent
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Teaspoon Granulated Onion
1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 11oz Tub of Ruth’s Chili
In a large sauce pan add ground beef and onion with the water. Using a potato masher, mash the ground beef so that it isn’t chunky. Your chili should be a fine consistency like in my video. Cook until the ground beef is done. Drain most of the water off of you ground beef and onions. Next add ketchup mustard and all of the spices. Mix together and let cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes are up taste to see if you need to add more spices. If it needs anything add it now until the chili suits your taste. Make it your own. Cover and let cook another 10 minutes. This will give the ketchup time to cook. Taste again. Let simmer for an additional 10 minutes then you are ready to eat your chili. Serve on hot dogs and hamburgers. Enjoy!
