Sweet potatoes are gluten-free which makes it a trendy food. And when our favorite food; fries, are made of such a healthy ingredient, it becomes guilt-free for us. The sweet potato version of fries is sweet, savory and completely irresistible.

Ingredients-

Sweet Potato/Shakarkandi -1(1/2kg)
Salt- as per taste
Ginger powder -1tsp
Oregano -1tsp
Dried& crushed pudina -1tsp
Red chili powder -1tsp
Oil -for frying
Water -for washing and soaking

Method –

1- Wash and peel the shakarkandi. Cut it in the shape of fries.
2- Wash it thoroughly with cold water. Wash it with clean water.
3- Soak it in icy cold water for 15-20 minutes. Remove from water.
4- Blanch it for 3-4 minutes. The color of sweet potatoes will change.
5- Let it cool down then deep freeze it for 30 minutes.
6- Heat the oil. Fry on low flame for 5minutes, take it out on an absorbent paper.
7- Let the fries rest for 5 minutes then fry again on medium flame till crisp and golden.
8- Take it out on an absorbent paper then transfer in a big bowl.
9- Add salt, red chili powder, oregano, dried pudina, and ginger powder. Toss to coat the fries well.
10- Tasty, tangy, spicy fries are ready to serve.
