Number of servings: 3-4 persons
Ingredients
Soya chunks – 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 2 Tsp
Red chili powder – 2 Tsp
Pepper – 1/2 Tsp
Corn flour – 1/4 Cup
Chopped Garlic – 1 Tsp
Chopped Ginger – 1 Tsp
Onions – 1 No Chopped
Capsicum – 1 no Chopped
Walnuts – 1 Cup
Vinegar – 1 Tsp
Soy sauce – 1 Tsp
Red chili sauce – 1 Tbsp
Tomato ketchup – 1 Tbsp
Spring onions
Oil
Water
Salt
Method
1. Boil some water to cook the soya chunks
2. Once the water starts boiling, add salt and the soya chunks
3. Cook the soya chunks till they are soft
4. Strain the soya chunks and let them cool
5. Once the soya chunks are at room temperature, squeeze the excess moisture from them and them to a bowl
6. Add corn flour, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, pepper and mix well
7. Heat some oil for shallow frying, slowly add the soya chunks to the hot oil
8. Deep fry them till they turn crispy and golden brown
9. Keep them aside
10. Heat a pan with some oil, add ginger, garlic, onions and saute
11. Add walnuts, and capsicum and saute along
12. Add vinegar, soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, salt, pepper, red chili powder and mix well
13. Mix corn flour with water and make a slurry
14. Add the corn flour slurry to the pan and let it boil
15. Add the fried soya chunks and simmer it for 5 mins
16. Finally, garnish it with spring onion greens
17. Serve the Walnut soya chili hot with fried rice or noodles or you can eat it as a starter
