This is China meets India. Tofu is soyabean cake originating from the far east i.e. Chinese influence . I have paired it with the legendary indian spice i.e. turmeric and fennel . It takes a fried form which will appeal to children. It is garnished with green bellpepper or capsicum, onion and curry leaves. Red capsicum can also be used. Makes a great starter or just a snack. Enjoy!!
Recipe :-

Ingredients To Marinate :-
Tofu – 3
Ginger, garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Yogurt – 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Fennel Powder – 1 tbsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 2 tbsp
Besan flour – 2 tbsp
Rice flour – 1 tbsp
Curry Leaves – chopped
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.
Mix the above and set it aside for 10 mins. after 10 mins., add in the oil and mix it and set it aside for 5 mins.
Heat the oil and deep fry it in lumps until crispy . golden colour. Remove and let it cool.
To Garnish ;-
Oil- 1 tbsp
Big onion – 1/2 sliced lengthwise
Capsicum – 1/2 cut lengthwise
Green chilli – 1/2 cut lengthwise
Curry Leaves.
Heat the oil in a pan , add in the sliced onion, capsicum, green chilli, curry leaves. Once roasted well add in the fried tofu. Stir it until mixed. Serve hot as a starter for a meal or an evening snack .
