Slow Cooker Butter Chicken
4 Boneless Chicken Breast – cut into 1″ chunks
28 oz Can Tomato Puree
1 Large Onion – chopped
3 Tbsp Ginger – minced
6 Cloves Garlic – minced
1/4 C Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Garam Masala
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Coriander
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Chili Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 C Plain Yogurt – can also use heavy cream, sour cream or coconut milk
*Garnish with cilantro
Trim & cut your chicken into 1″ chunks. Set aside
In a medium sized bowl add tomato puree, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, garam masala, cumin,
coriander, turmeric, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt & pepper. Stir in yogurt and mix well.
Place chicken into slow cooker and pour the sauce over top. Mix well. Top with chopped onions.
Cook on high for 3 – 4 hours or low 6 – 7 hours.
Serve over rice. Garnish with cilantro.
