Easy Chili Fish anyone can make| Dry Chili Fish Recipe| Cod recipe| Fish Appetizer|

This chili fish will make those eat who do not like fish! Try out this easy to cook crispy fried fish tossed with some regular available sauce at home. The taste is amazing restaurant style! Can be eaten as an appetizer or turn into a main course, will go well with rice, noodles or as is.

Ingredients :

Boneless fish – 400 grams/ 0.8 lbs, cut into smaller pieces
Soya sauce – 2 tbsp
Chili/sriracha sauce – 1 tbsp
Oyster sauce – 1 tbsp
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
pepper power (black or white) – 1/2 tsp
Garlic powder – 1/2 tsp (minced garlic can be used as well)
Vinegar – 2 tsp
All purpose flour – 1tbsp
Corn Flour – 1 tsp
Oil for frying – 1/2 cup
Salt – as per taste (for fish seasoning and for veggies)
diced onion – 1 medium
diced capsicum – 1 small or 1/2 med
Slit dry red chili- 1
Garlic – 1tbsp chopped (4-5 cloves)
Spring onion – 2 tbsp
slurry – 1/2 cup water + 1/2 tsp corn flour

Method –
Mix all the sauces, soya sriracha oyster
Add to that sugar, pepper, garlic and vinegar
Give a good mix and keep aside
Cut the fish fillets into smaller bite size pieces
Season with salt
Add 3 -4 tsp of the sauce mix as needed and marinate the fish for 15 – 20 mins
Then mix in all purpose flour and corn flour
Coat the fish with the flour
Heat enough oil in a wok
Drop the fish pieces one at a time and fry until crispy
Fry in batches, do not overcrowd
Take them out once they are golden
Reduce the oil if excess or use a different pan with 1 tbsp oil
Add silt dry red chili and chopped garlic
Stir fry until fragrant
Add the onion and peppers
Season with salt as per taste
Stir fry on med to high heat and let the veggies sweat
Add the remaining sauce mix and corn flour slurry
Once it starts to boil , add the fish pieces
Sprinkle smoked paprika or chili flakes , it is optional
Give a good mix
Check for seasoning, add any sauce more if needed
Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve

Note : If oyster sauce not available, add dark soya sauce or more of light soya sauce.
Tomato ketchup/ sauce can also be a good option if anyone wants.
Sriracha can be substituted with red chili sauce
