Hey foodies! This Chili recipe is my take on the Tex-Mex classic. Feel free to adjust flavours to suit your palate 😁
Here’s the Perfect Cornbread to go with this Chili:
INGREDIENTS for the Chili:
Step1:
1 lb ground beef (ideally 80% lean 20% fat)
1 tbsp Canola oil
Seasoned Salt to taste
Black pepper
Step 2.
Oil as needed
1 onion diced or minced
1 stalk celery, diced
Diced Bell peppers as desired

Spices/herbs and sugar mixed:
2 tsps paprika
2 tsps Smoked Paprika
1 tbsp cumin
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground Chipotle pepper
1/2 – 1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsps or more Chili powder
3 tsps garlic powder
2 tsps onion powder (more or less)
1/2 – 1 tsp oregano
2 or more tbsps brown sugar

4 cloves garlic minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup Crushed tomatoes (more or less)
1/2 – 1 cup Fire roasted tomato sauce
1 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
1 cup Chicken Broth
3 – 4 cups of Beef Broth (more or less)
1 – 2 cups cooked red kidney beans
Fresh thyme leaves, minced(added of cam)
More seasoned salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Tips:
If you don’t have all these spices, you may use taco seasoning
If you have no broth, use the seasoning from Ramen noodle packets. Just stir them into some water 😁
Another way to get additional flavour is adding a tiny bit of smoky bbq sauce.
Adding some pureed Chipotle in Adobo sauce will also kick up the flavour and heat a notch. This is usually sold in a can. I didn’t use it today because I ran out 😔 Give it a try though 😄
