Goan Chilli Chicken Recipe:
Chicken (curry cut) – 500 grams
Marination:
Coriander Leaves – ½ Cup
Green Chilli – 3 nos
Ginger – ½ inch
Garlic – 6 nos
Lemon Juice – ½ no
Salt – ½ tsp
Other Ingredients:
Coconut Oil – 2 tbsp
Cinnamon – 2 inches
Cloves – 6 nos
Onion (thinly sliced) – 1 ½ Cups
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Tomato (finely chopped) – ½ Cup
Water – ¼ Cup
Tomato Ketchup – 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Sauce – 1 tbsp
Vinegar – 1 tsp
Soy Sauce – 1 tsp
Sugar – ½ tsp
Green Chilli (slit) – 3 nos
Coriander Leaves – For Garnish
Cooking Instructions:
1. Grind all the ingredients for the marination.
2. Add it to the chicken, mix and marinate for 20 minutes.
3. Heat coconut oil in a pan, and add cinnamon and cloves. Add onion and saute until translucent.
4. Add the spice powders and salt, and mix to combine. Add tomatoes and cook until theyāre softened.
5. Add the chicken and stir for 2 minutes. Add water, cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
6. Add all the sauces, vinegar and sugar. Cook on low heat for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Add green chilli and coriander leaves, and remove from the heat. Serve with pav, bread, rice or as an appetizer.
