Hey family!! In today’s video it’s Sunday and before church I make biscuits! Again… It’s becoming a Sunday morning thing! 🤣 This time I make sausage biscuits and later for supper we make some yummy chili & baked potatoes!
In between it all I check one more thing off my Spring Cleaning List, the Laundry room shelves, and I finally get my curtain back up in the kitchen. 😆
Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe:
2 cups self rising flour
6 TB unsalted butter (cold)
1 cup buttermilk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°
Combine all ingredients and mix by hand, using a little self rising flour to keep it from sticking to your hands too much. Pinch of pieces a little bigger than a golf ball and roll into ball shape. Pat in extra flour and press slightly onto baking pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until bottoms of biscuits are browned. Brown the tops and spread with butter!
Chili Recipe:
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1 large yellow onion chopped
2 10 oz. cans Rotel, drained
1 cup of water
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 16 oz can kidney beans, drained
1 15 oz can chili beans
1/4 cup chili powder
½ tsp cumin
2 tsp oregano powder
2 tsp paprika
salt & pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
Instructions
In a large skillet brown the ground beef over medium high heat. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Stir in the onions. Continue cooking until the meat has fully browned and onions are tender, drain.
Stir in the Rotel, water, tomato sauce, beans.
Stir in the seasonings.
Cover and cook over medium-high heat until it begins to boil. Boil a couple minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve warm with toppings of your choice!
