Tandoori Tikka with Onion Salad
Ingredients for Tandoori Masala:
Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Black peppercorns 1 cup
Dried red chilies 2-3
Curry leaf 1
Green cardamom 2-3
Black cardamom 1
Cloves 3-4
Cinnamon stick 1/2 piece
Roasted seeds
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Chaat masala 1 tsp
Ingredients for Tandoori Tikka:
Chicken boneless (thigh piece) 1 kg
Tandoori masala 3 tbsp
Yogurt 1 cup
Lemon juice 3 tbsp
Oil (for cooking) as required
Skewers as required
Ingredients for Onion Salad:
Onion (sliced) 2 cups
Hot water as required
Green Coriander 1 cup
Vinegar 2-3 tbsp
Black pepper powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Directions for Tandoori Masala Preparation:
1. In a preheated pan add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, whole red chilies, curry leaf and roast until fragrant over low flame.
2. In a grinder add green cardamom, black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, roasted spices and grind into fine powder. Transfer the ground spices into a bowl.
3. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, chaat masala and mix well. Your Tandoori Masala is ready. Set aside.
Directions for Tandoori Tikka Preparation:
4. In a bowl add chicken, tandoori masala, yogurt, lemon juice and mix well. Marinate for 30 minutes. Set aside.
5. On a skewer add 7-8 pieces of marinated chicken.
6. In a pan heat oil and place Tandoori Tikka Skewers. Cook for 4-5 minutes from each side on high flame.
7. Your Tandoori Tikka is ready. Set aside.
Directions for Onion Salad Preparation:
8. In a bowl add onion, hot water and soak for 15-20 minutes.
9. In another bowl add soaked onion, coriander, vinegar, black pepper, salt and mix well.
10. Your Onion salad is ready. Serve with Tandoori Tikka and enjoy.
