recipe:
for simple chili oil:
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
3 tbsp chili flakes (Sichuan prefered, but you can use any flakes…any CHILI flakes I mean, you couldn’t use corn flakes, or bran flakes, or snow flakes, that would be a disaster 😜 )
1 cinnamon stick (or pinch of powder)
or
pinch Chinese 5 spice powder
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
2/3 cup neutral oil
place ingredients in a heat proof bowl
heat oil to 200F and carefully poor over ingredients
***always use extreme caution when pouring hot oil, an oil burn is nasty $h!t***
for the NOODz:
individual serving of your favorite thin Asian noodle, I used wings ca-mien…use rice or sweet potato for #glutenfree – cook to package directions
add 1 tsp simple chili oil
1 tsp honey (sub agave for full vegan)
1/2 tsp lime juice
soy sauce – 1 tsp or to taste
toss together and enjoy with your favorite veggies
