How to make Chili in a Crockpot. Homemade chili cooked in a slow cooker is easy and delicious. Chili is one of those dishes that gets better the longer it cooks. Recipe in the description.
Crockpot Chili

2 lbs. ground beef
2 cups chopped onions
1 29 oz can diced tomatoes
1 28 oz can tomato sauce
1 large can chili beans or red kidney beans
1 cup bell peppers, seeded and chopped (optional)
3 tablespoons Chili powder
Salt and pepper

In a large skillet crumble beef and brown until no more pink is showing. Drain any grease. Place beef in crockpot. Stir in remaining ingredients. Season with chili powder and salt and pepper to suit taste. Set slow cooker to low and cook 6-8 hours or high temp and cook 4-6 hours. Taste test half way through cooking time and adjust seasoning as needed.
This will fill a 6-quart slow cooker.
Tip: This is a good all-purpose chili suitable for all family members. To add spicy heat stir in more chili powder or powdered chipotle pepper, red pepper or Jalapeno peppers.
