How to Make Venison Chili – Alamo Beer

ALAMO Venison Chili

Serves: 8
Notes:This classic recipe is fantastic with venison, but ground turkey, chicken or beef can also be used!

3 lbs ground venison
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 Tbl tomato paste
1 can (14.5 oz) stew tomatoes
1 cup water
1+ bottle Alamo® Golden Ale
4 Tbl flour or masa to thicken (optional)

Seasoning Blend- Note: Pre blend to take to hunting camp, camping or just to have seasoning mix ready to use on hand!
1 Tbl ADAMS CUMIN
1/2 cup ADAMS CHOPPED ONION
1 1/2 tsp ADAMS GRANULATED GARLIC
1/2 cup ADAMS CHILI POWDER
2 Tbl ADAMS PAPRIKA
1 tsp ADAMS OREGANO
2 tsp Salt (optional)
2 tsp ADAMS GROUND BLACK PEPPER
1 tsp sugar

Heat oil in large stock pan over medium heat. Cook venison until browned. Stir in Chili Seasoning Blend (onion, garlic, chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper and sugar) and mix well. Let meat cook for an additional 2 minutes. Add tomato paste, canned tomatoes, and water to meat and stir well. Mix in 1 bottle Alamo® Golden Ale. Bring mixture to a simmer. Cover, bring heat to low and cook for an additional 1 hour. Add Alamo® Golden Ale or water as needed if liquid evaporates. To thicken if desired, add flour or masa ,stir on low heat.
