Hey all! I thought I’d post a personal recommendation for Culley’s line of sauces. It is a NZ-based company. I don’t think it exports out of NZ, however the sauce is readily available in NZ supermarkets. I live in Australia and have had friends and family make trips to NZ in the last few weeks and have been able to build up a little stockpile.
What does it taste like?
Culley’s masterfully balances exceptionally hot, with very pleasant, layered, and complex flavour. i.e., it’s not just “shock-value” hot. Moreover, these sauces are priced very competitively, at just $7.00NZD/bottle. I have found the reaper sauce holds its weight against other sauces I have in my collection that have cost me $28.00AUD/bottle. If you have a friend travelling to New Zealand, ask them to buy you some Culley’s.
