A great comfort food. Chili. This is a classic recipe for hearty chili. It’s not too hot and not too mild. Just like mom used to make. Top it with grated cheese or sour cream, or whatever you like.
Chili Recipe
1 lb. of ground beef
1 lb. of ground sausage
2 medium onions, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
1 poblano pepper diced
6 cloves of garlic, minced
4 cups beef broth
1 can tomato paste
2 cans whole, crushed tomatoes
2-3 cups small red kidney beans (or 2 cans)
Seasoning
½ tsp allspice
ÂĽ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp ancho chili powder
1 tbsp ground cumin
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Brown ground meat until no longer pink
Sauté peppers, onion, and garlic
Add all ingredients to a large pot (i use a Dutch oven)
Simmer for 1-3 hours
