INGREDIENTS
Set 1
3 pounds lean, ground beef or turkey

Set 2
2 onions, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
14 ounce can of diced tomatoes
14 ounce can of beef broth
2 – 6 ounce cans of tomato paste
3 – 15 ounce cans of kidney beans
12 ounce can or bottle of dark beer
1 cup of strong coffee

Set 3
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chili powder
3/4 tablespoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt

Tools: colander, large pot

  1. so Paula, why do you drain the meat, then add stock? Why not just seperate the fat from the beef broth that was generated while cooking the meat?

  2. Compliment the darker flavours with a beer like guiness or something super heavy. Budweiser in the recipe is like a kraft processed cheese slice to a slice of gruyere

  3. Going to Walmart now and get everything but the Budweiser must use a Guinness type of beer instead, thanks!

  4. I was temporarily assigned to Anderson AFB back in 1990. We would go to the Exchange and there were ladies set up outside that would sell and serve chili over rice. I have eaten many chili's over the years. Their chili was by far the best of them all. I am wondering if this is the recipe they followed.

  5. This will be my second time making your recipe. I've always made mine with chocolate and cinnamon. The beer is such a great addition. 😋
