Textured vegetable protein or TVP or Meal maker are the different names of soya chunks. The only reason for such different names is that it is one of the best sources of protein for vegetarians/vegans. Soya chunks fry is a versatile recipe that can be served as a side dish with chapati/paratha of your choice or enjoy it as a starter or evening snack.
Ingredients-
Soya chunks -1 cup
Onion -2 (shredded)
Green chili -2(slit)
Garlic -5 pods(sliced)
Ginger -1tsp grated
Capsicum -1 tbsp (sliced)
Tomato-1 big (chopped)
Garam masala powder -1/2tsp
Red chili powder -1tsp
Oil-1tsp
Chaat masala-1tsp
Salt-as per taste
Lemon juioce-1tsp
Coriander leaves -1tbsp
Method-
1- Soak the soya chunks in hot water with salt for 15-20 minutes. Drain out the extra water from soya chunks and keep it aside.
2- Heat oil in a pan, fry green chili and onions till light in color. Add garlic, ginger and capsicum. Fry for another 2minutes.
3- Add the chopped tomatoes and all the masala. Cook till tomatoes are soft.
4- Mix the soya chunks properly in the masala. Add chat masala, lemon juice, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
5- Yummy soya chunk fry is ready.
