I love these. And apparently bartenders love when pasty, freckled, super-visibly-Canadian tourists types order them.
I asked my husband to order one for me while I secured a spot on the beach. He was a bit nervous on how to pronounce it properly, and his celtic pasty self wandered off to the bar with some uncertainty.

Well, he showed up with a huge pitcher of it, a bowl of sliced limes, and glasses.
The bartender had been so amused with his butchered pronunciation that he gave my husband the drinks motherload, and a shot for him to boot. The bartender had expressed that it was cute to see foreigners asking for things other than “un cerveza por favor” or the usual fruity froo-froo cocktails. Biggest smile on my hubby’s face.

Once I had 8 in 2 hours and I was pooping non stop for two days and looked 9 months pregnant for a week

  5. The michelada’s vary depending on where you go. I’ve probably had 3 wildly different varieties of them. I did have one in Isla Mujeres that had gummy worms and peach rings in it. My fave is just clamato, hot sauce, and tajin mixed with a Modelo el negro

I gusta la Bloody Michelada [G: Mi•kuh•laa•duh] by adding 1.5 ounces of Tito’s (or VOC) and lots of limes and olives.

    “Ole’ my fellow pasty mofachos”
