In Oaxaca ants and grasshoppers are considered a delicacy. “Escamoles is considered like caviar.

I am Oaxacan and I have a friend that is from Colima that came to my house to eat and never in his life had he eaten blue corn tortillas. That clearly showed me that every Mexican state is completely different in terms of Mexico gastronomy.

I’m a bit squeamish on chapulines and Insecta in general. The last time I had them they had a faint odor of rotten meat. That being said I think I would enjoy their nutty crunch blanketed in guacamole 🤤

The guacamole, chapulines or the blue tortilla.

I had my coworker bring me back some chapulines from Mexico recently because I’ve always been curious about them. They were really good, they were seasoned with lime and garlic.
I have some left and at this point they’re about a month old, anyone know the shelf life of these?
