16 oz of organic dry garbanzo beans-soak overnight in water in large pot
Drain and rinse, then put soaked beans back in pot Â
-add 7 whole cloves of organic garlic
-1 box of Ramen Broth by Ocean’s Halo or if you can’t do soy replace with 1 Â Â box of Pacific Mushroom broth
-1 teaspoon Tumeric
-1-2 teaspoons (or if you’re like me and LOVE spice tablespoons)
-1-2 teaspoons of cumin
-1-2 teaspoons of black pepper
-dash of paprika (optional, but very pretty to sprinkle on top if you omit the  green chili topping)
-1-2 teaspoons Nutritional YeastÂ
Once all ingredients have been added to the pot, bring to a boil for 2-7 minutes then cover and let sit for an hour.
Scoop all the beans and the garlic into a Food Processor or Blender along with 1 cup of the broth,
-Add 1/2 can of Green Chili (optional, you can also use jalepenos or cilantro  or any flavor you like but this is a favorite of ours)
–Add 1/4-1/2 cup of Tahini (more or less depending on your taste-I almost always use more as I love the flavor)
-keep adding more broth until you get the consistency you like for your hummus-I like mine a bit thinner.
— 1/4- 1 cup lemon juice more or less to taste (I usually add more as we love
the lemony flavor with the garlic, but do to your taste).
-I did not mention salt in the video as many try to avoid it, but I do use it and I  solely use pink Himalayan salt, and do it to taste as salt is very subjective to  ones taste (I LOVE salt).  So as you blend, slowly add the salt in and stop a  few times to taste before adding more–you can do this with ALL of the  ingredients to your taste
Top the Hummus you plan to serve that day with the other half of the Green ChilisÂ
This will make a lot of Hummus as you can freeze it or keep in fridge for about a week. Â It’s also great to have on hand if you’re going to a friends for dinner and they might not be offering Vegan options so a great share!
Also, save the remainder of the broth as it is so tasty and you can pour a little on top of the Hummus not topped with Green Chili and add a few extra Garbanzo Beans on top for another variation or use it for your next stir fry instead of oil.
