Get a whole onion, quarter it, wrap it in foil, throw it on the grill or oven. Once it’s soft, cook it with your taco meat for a while.

  2. SnowieEyesight

Ask them how they do it? A lot of cooks would be more than happy to help you with it.

Often the white onions are chopped and then briefly rinsed to make them less intense

Lol downvotes you are wrong af. White onion is often soaked or rinsed in Mexican cuisine. Look it up dorks

Taco shops will wrap them in tin foil and either throw them in the frying disc full of pork lard, or on the grill with the beef, either way they come put delicious, just chop them, and add a little lime and a little salt. voilà

  5. Like someone else said, wrap em in foil with a little cooking oil (canola) or butter and let ‘em cook for a while.

You can cook them in lard for a long time but they won’t taste the same cause the taco truck lard has all the meat flavours in it.

You’re gonna have to get your own truck, it’s the only way.

Cut it in 4, but let it keep its form, in the middle put butter or oil, add salt and wrap it in tin foil and put it in the grill, I don’t know how to make it in other way lmao
After is done put some lemon or lime or whatever the name you use for the small green one lol

Or just buy a cast iron skillet, and cook in some avacado oil. Season it with Montreal seasoning when it becomes semi translucent and bam!!

Wrap in foil and bake or throw directly on charcoal and grill for about one hour. Squeeze lemon juice salt and pepper.

I saw at los tacos no1 they grill it a little then deep fry it, wild.

    The brown ones???

Just cook them over oil for a while until they get brown for a more “specific” taste

If you want exactly those, iirc they’re made by bathing them in lard, and wrapping them in aluminium foil, then roast them in a grill until they’re ready

    Kinda cool ngl

my family wraps half an onion with butter and a little salt in foil and then they put it on the grill until it’s soft

Lol before i realized which onions you were talking about, I thought you meant the raw ones on the tacos and i was like “uh, you just chop them?”

Light saute onions, green chillies to taste, cool then mix with cilantro.

Personally I like to cook it like this, take a bowl and add a chopped onion, soy sauce, a little sugar and salt, close the bowl and shake it to mix everything, take a pan and add oil and pour it in, fry it until it is soft and taste it, I personally add sugar because I like the sweetness of the onion combined with the other ingredients of a taco.

Sautè on a pan, ad Worcester sauce, Lime Juice, salt and optional oregano. Enjoy.

  21. thedrinkalchemist

We add a crushed up Beef bullion cube to ours after slathering in lard and then wrap it in foil
