Does anyone know this sauce?

Birria tacos are then topped with a thin yellow sauce. Is it salsa or nacho cheese?

Just taking a guess but looks habanero based.

Probably chili de árbol, good amount oil, tomatillos, and other secret stuff

Visited their website, seems like cheese sauce is something they mention quite a bit on the menu. Gonna assume it’s a spicy cheese sauce, but if you’re in LA, may be worth a phone call if you’re curious, or a visit.

Edit: Why downvote an earnest reply?

That’s just nacho’s cheese, and is something known here in Mexico like una gringada!

**OP** based of customer reviews it’s their habanero sauce. Since it has a creamy look I suggest the main ingredients are de-seeded orange habanero and mayonnaise. Besides that there are more ingredients they may use. Such as: salt, sugar, vinegar, and method of mixing ingredients.

Update: Found the recipe online. Sauce is made of habanero, mayo, garlic, chicken bouillon, and some of the water from boiling the habaneros. Blend all ingredients.

  9. you mean the yellow on the tacos?

when you blend chili and oil, it looks like that, considering that it’s in English, I hope to god it’s not cheese

This is NOT nacho cheese lmfao. This is salsa, it looks that way because they just pureed the heck out of whatever chilis they used. On their own site it even shows this yellow sauce or a red sauce as a side option.

Could be mango-habanero or just cheddar, there are several foreign restaurants that think cheddar goes with everything

Looks kinda similar to a salsa I tried the other day when eating tacos. It was only chile de árbol, salt and oil, and that’s it, no more ingredients. It was hella spicy.

Ha de ser o de mango con habanero o de cacahuate
