Can you share how you got such a perfect char? (Temp, cooking vessel, etc?). I’ve been medium-hot on a cast iron and don’t get the color you do.

Hey for a first time they look great! May I offer some advice? If the edges are not smooth it means your tortillas still need more water, you are so close on that. Can be a few drops or a couple of tablespoons of water, also try to make them a bit thinner. I must however disclose that I love a thick tortilla or as my aunt calls them, a gorda so tasty with some salsa verde and jocoque! But otherwise, well done!

They taste so much better, don’t they? Like homemade bread compared to storebought fluffy white bread.

Be careful, once you consistently get fresh tortillas, you can’t go back to store bought. It’s a wicked addiction. My job as a chef with fresh tortilla daily has completely ruined/ spoiled me

I’m mexican ,they are too thick and tan color only means heat wasn’t well applied, I’m sure the dough inside is not well cooked.

Try with a rolling pin or a piece of broomstick, hidrate the dough a little more and mid temperature should do
