I had lots of Charapita seedlings because I read they can be tough to germinate, and the seeds I got not so tough! I gave some away, and planted extras in flower beds. This little one is only in a (approximately) 2 gallon terra cotta pot next to my herb garden, and it’s doing pretty well! Fruiting and ripening faster than its in-ground siblings.

I’ll just say this right now, be mindful. The Charapita can become highly addictive. It’s one I grow yearly, and I have up towards 15 plants in 5gal buckets, and other random containers…
I have many Mason jars packed full of dehydrated Pitas from last year…
Every other day for my garden maintenance, I grab a few off my plants and eat them like candy… My wife always looks at me like I’m a psycho.
I so much want to grow these ají charapitas next spring. Need to order seeds this winter.
