C. chinense is not flowering

Hi guys. I started my plants from the seeds 190+ days ago. Rich on nutrients soil, approx 20 litres big ones and 10 litres Small ones.

About a month ago, buds started to appear. The first ones, a couple of millimeters in size, withered instantly. After a couple of weeks, more “high quality” buds appeared, and a few flowers emerged from them. I tried pollinating them with a paint brush, but nothing helped — they stay for a couple of days, then fall off.

I live in Kyiv, in an apartment, and the summer is already beginning to come to an end. Do you think there is still a chance for at least a couple of fruits?

My suspicions are that there is some excess nitrogen (soil with vermicompost, fishmeal and other), and lack of light. Plus, the daytime temperatures can reach 34 degrees Celsius.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do? Thanks 🙂

Leaves look pretty dark green. Maybe nitrogen?? Not sure

I would second the heavy nitrogen, leaves looking real green (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) but maybe try to get your hands on some fertilizer higher in phosphorus and potassium with a lower nitrogen count! Should hopefully give your plants a chance to flower:)

If your growing inside you should have to worry about running out of time too 🙂

Plant looks amazing. I wouldn’t jump to change nitrogen considering the lack of nitrogen burn. If the room is generally air condition I would consider bringing out doors for more heat. Some need it pretty hot. Just remember to go through a hardening phase before bombarding with long hours of sunlight. Keep an eye on it, the wilting will come very fast if it can’t handle it.

You look right on the verge of a N toxicity. Add some P

Heat mat, and grow light above. You may also want to switch to just an all purpose plant food. I’m probably going to get shit saying that….
