Homemade Chili by Jeremy
Ingredients:
About 2.5 pounds of ground beef – (80/20 lean)
1 (10.5oz) can of beef broth
3 (15.5 oz cans) cans of chili beans in chili sauce
1 (6oz) can of tomato paste
Chopped Garlic
1 envelope of onion soup mix
About 3 cups of water
I seasoned the ground beef while it browned in the skillet with onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, and cajun/creole seasoning. The cajun seasoning has salt, red pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. – NO MSG –
While the ground beef was cooking, I emptied the rest of the ingredients into a large 5-quart saucepan to start cooking. The tomato paste had to be blended in with the other ingredients.
Drained most of the grease from the ground beef. Then added the contents of the saucepan into the larger skillet. (If using a larger saucepan add cooked ground beef to the larger saucepan.)
Simmer on medium heat for about an hour to get the flavors to mingle.
