Just saw an article about this! A kid died after doing the challenge. Cause of death is still unclear, but he went home from school sick after doing the challenge and was later taken to the hospital, where he died.

Disgusting chip that sends all the wrong messages about the love for spicy food to the masses. No point in pain if you don’t even get to taste the delicious peppers, and I find some particularly angry fresh habanero pods to be just as spicy as the damn chip.
It’s a real shame about the kid, and Paqui likely fucked up somehow because I don’t think capsaicin has the capacity to kill anyone by itself. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this.

If you want some kind of extreme heat challenge do the death nut. They’re actually pretty tasty and hotter anyway.
I don’t really care, I am not into challenges. This is dumb though. The product has warnings, was sold legally and was not defective to my knowledge, I am sure it will come out if that changes. People should be able to buy what they want. At least keep it available for online purchasing.

There’s a group of guys in an suv, that drives around my neighborhood paying homeless people that can eat the chip without water etc for 10 minutes. I guess those guys are gonna stop with this.

Ghost pepper paqui chips are the best chip on planet earth.
I don’t think the spiciness killed him, I think what killed him was his body detecting it as something else or his bodies reaction to it was similar to that of an allergic reaction and this resulted in his death it’s very unlikely it’s as a result of how spicy it is more likely a reaction to the capsaicin itself.
Time to go raid my local 7-11 and buy out their stock so I can upsell these.

I have 2 brand new original ones, never ate them, for obvious reasons lol
I did the challenge. It was not at all what I expected. I thought that I’d have a mouth full of hot. I love mouth heat. I grow reapers and habaneros. I grow all sorts of peppers from hot banana to bell to jalapeno. Hot hot hot to just for flavor.
I thought legitimately that my mouth would be on fire. It was not. It was just like biting into a habanero. Not terrible. Not particularly comfortable.
What I didn’t expect was the body reaction. I had the spins like if I was too drunk. I had anxiety and an adrenaline dump as of I almost got hit by a semi. I wanted to shit my pants and throw up. I began to have a panic attack. I was dizzy.
What the fuck does that have to do with heat? Nothing. This challenge was stupid as fuck and I wish I’d never had done it.
Great news. This thing is vile.
Ok, but hear me out… What if they included a small sachet of tobacco in the box so they could require ID….?
This years chip made me tap out in 4 mins, and I suffered harshly.
Whatever was in 2023’s chip was diabolical. 2021 and 2022 were a joke compared to this one, and I made an hour after eating those.

As an adult, I was no more or less prepared than anyone else and the chip tastes terrible. Regretted eating it within 30 seconds of swallowing it.
