hi I am currently an employer at taco bell I am 17 and this is my first job so I started working there right when I turned 16. I loved working there for a while but now I just cant do it anymore they never give me hours when I ask so I have been planning on quitting for months ive just been too scared bc idk how to even quit i never quit a job before. I thought of making a note and leaving it in the office for the manager or calling or texting because I barely even gets shifts and when I do its never with the general manager so I think I might just write a letter heres what I have so far (idk if this is a good letter to quit w or not help)

Be sure to add a final day date, two weeks from the day you turn it in.
Agreed with what the other commenter said regarding adding a date.
This message is more than enough, don’t worry. Great job!
Just tell them you want to put in your two weeks
You don’t need to request permission to add the experience to your resume. Everything else looks solid.
When i resigned I literally just said
ā(Boss name), this is my two week notice. My last day will be X.
-My first and last name & date I submitted it.ā
You donāt need permission from them to put your experience on your resume. Itās your experience, not theirs. They donāt need anything else other than the last day you will be there.
When you give them this most likely they will just let you go be prepared
Always put the days date and the last day you will be working š
I think it looks solid, definitely a step up from giving a verbal 2 weeks, more formal and I think your manager may appreciate that in terms of professionalism and will reflect better when your next employer calls for a reference, s/he will likely remember you better.
That is really professional what you wrote.
I just clocked out and said thank you and dipped haha
Just leave. Fast food joints are always hiring.
Just tell your manager you wanna quit?

Itās Taco Bell, they expect teenagers to come and go. Donāt stress it.
If they never even give you shifts you donāt even need a two weeks honestly. But still do it anyway, and theyāll most likely just let you go right there
Youāre being way too polite. Thatās fine. But you donāt need anyoneās permission to include or exclude previous work experience on your resume.
If you wanna leave on the best terms, personally ask whichever manager likes you best if you can use them as a future reference.
I would just tell them that I quit.
Wait until the evening rush and just disappear. You can thank me in 15 years when you look back and realize you did the right thing.
I literally just told them āthis is my 2 weeks but i may be gone anytime before thenā and quit on the upcoming friday
Jesus Christ just tell them what your last day is.
It’s fast food, just turn in your two weeks. If they were a decent manager, maybe thank them for being kind or whatever.
Don’t ask permission to put something on *your* resume, lol.
Find another job BEFORE you quit! Maybe change locations or go do whatever YOU love!
Bro it’s taco bell. You could just not a say a word and never show back up. They’ll find some other 16 year old to make tacos. The world will keep on spinning. It’s professional courtesy to provide a notice, but for a fast food job don’t overthink it.
I don’t even give 2 weeks. I just leave. For references literally put down any name and your buddies phone number. They don’t check it. Most places will never even call
Bruh what the fuck did ur parents force you to write this shit ā¦. This was how it was back in the day now you just hand a sticky note with ur ālast day āā on it and name

In addition to what people are saying about not needing to request to list them as experience on your resume, it is also highly illegal for a former employer to say anything to a potential employer of yours outside of the dates you worked there. So if you needed to quit right away, you could do that. Assuming you live in an āat-willā state. You may need to Google that part if youāre interested further
We had this girl stop showing up and we were like āoh ok, guess she quit. Oh well. š¤·š»āāļøā and then about three days later the store received a very formal letter in the mail from her explaining she would no longer be working there, dated the last day she was there. We thought it was funny how she went about it lol no one cares.
Don’t even give them a letter. Would they give you notice before letting you go? Just fuckin bounce dude.
Pro tip, later in life remember that when they want new people theyāll fire you on the spot, you wonāt get a 2 week notice. If they havenāt been good to you, they donāt deserve one either.
You can just ghost em, or quit the day you feel you have enough. No need to stick it out for pride or because itās āprofessionalā theyād fuck you over in a heartbeat.
You watch out for you first. You are always number 1. You got that?!?
But if this is the way YOU prefer to carry yourself. Continue molding your image the way you like best.
As upper management at a store, we donāt have expectations that teenagers will stay with us for a long time. Has it happened? Absolutely. Will your GM be surprised youāre leaving? Absolutely not. Just tell them. We have to do a form on our tablets (franchise) that takes like two minutes. Employees name and last day and sign and done.
I just resigned today š¤£, but as it was my second time, it’s not that difficult you just say you don’t want to work.
Wholesome post. Came here thinking it was going to be another āTaco Bell is too expensiveā post.
Walk out xD what chu mean lol.
I suggest something like this

“hi (managers name)
It was great working here. I really had a Baja blast, but unfortunately we did not Baja last. My last day is X.
Live mas
“
lol my friend literally wrote āmy last day is on __ā in highlighter on receipt paper and they didnāt not care. Itās taco bell not a professional job haha
I was going to tell ya,
āBack for a limited time only, (insert name here). Promo available till (2 weeks from today). While supplies last.
Stop overthinking a simple thing
Idk dawg, I just didnāt show up one dayš
We don’t do 2 weeks noticed anymore. If they can drop you on a dime you drop them on a dime.
Nothing wrong with going above and beyond in professionalism and courteousness as youāve done in your two week notice. Always good to leave on the best terms possible.
As others have mentioned, you donāt need to request for permission to include your work experience on your resume. However, it is a professional courtesy to ask for permission to use that individual specifically as a reference. Make sure theyāll actually give you a good report if contacted by a future potential employer.
Get a custom cake made with a photo of yourself on it and āSorry for your lossā written under the photo
If you like them you can give two weeks notice, if you don’t like them you can just stop showing up.
I wouldnāt even give them 2 weeks lol. You know why? Because when I decided to be the nice guy once , they didnāt schedule me for those two weeks. So basically wasted my time even mustering up the courage to formally resign. Few years later a factory id been with for 3 years , never missed a day, handed me a lay off notice. It was a 3 day notice handed to me on a Friday. So really I didnāt get any notice at all. These jobs donāt care about you. Fuck em all.
