THEY TOOK R JUBS
Nope! Give me a human, please
This will increase profits for the owners.
They do it at checkers now, it always gets it wrong and an employee has to do it anyways.
Oh boy, looks like a reason to lay off underpaid employees
Oh god, this is dystopian
They’re gonna fuck up my order
Just like the kiosk. Will only lead to personnel cuts
Bro, what do you think…
It’ll both save money for TacoBell and lead to increased prices to pay for the AI developement
Definitely slow things down and steal human jobs
Just cut down on number employees.
Fast food places want to get I the point where they have just one person there incase the machinery needs troubleshooting.
Talked to a computer at a Rally’s the other day. Horrible experience. It didn’t understand half of what I asked for.
Did it take your full order or just greet you and say we’ll be with you in just a moment?
They don’t care if it makes things faster. If it means they don’t have to pay an employee, it will happen.
90% of the time AI on my phone gets my words wrong when I’m trying to send a message while driving. I can’t imagine how badly they’ll fuck up my order when it’s loud outside, raining, or literally anything else
This will not be adopted smoothly
Even the pre-recorded message that plays at McDonalds confuses boomers all the time who think it’s a real person
“hello hello, will you be using your mobile app today?”
Working in tech with AI already in our platform..
It doesn’t alleviate workers. You end up having to hire more workers because your top talent is fighting with the AI all day.
So in this case, they need a worker dedicated to verifying the AI orders. It could make things faster in the long run but so many companies are jamming it down their front line workers throats without it being mature enough to only need slight corrections here and there. So it becomes a burden and frustrating to work with and you spend more time trying to undo the morale damage than time freed up by the AI when that time comes.
This is the future. Even before people wanted more money. Companies have wanted robots and AI. More productions, less mistakes, and less cost. The more people push for high wages, the faster they churn these things out.
Chipotle just introduced a robot that can make 200 burritos an hour. That’s insane!
So by ordering at the drive-thru you were giving Taco Bell permission to use your voice to train its AI in perpetuity.
Great.
