So went to do a mobile order at my local TB and it had no app ordering and was trying to send me toa TB in the next town over. So I just went to my local one to order in person. An employee explained that they were told by the franchise owner that he was shutting off app ordering at all of his stores because he was tired of giving away free food from rewards and it was cutting into his profit.

I feel bad now bc I abused the free rewards thing not too long ago (Not n TX btw)
Thankfully I live in a heavily populated area with like 30 Taco Bells in a 20 mile radius.
That franchise owner is a moron. Way to drive away a ton of customers because you don’t want to give out a free chalupa every 50 bucks they spend

Those locations will either return app ordering soon or will shut down within a year.
Sounds like this franchisee is simply delaying the inevitable failure of their business.
Every single time I have placed an order with a reward, my local TB has cancelled the order which still redeems my reward. I’ve never once been able to use a Taco Bell loyalty reward
Don’t give them your business and consider emailing them and explaining that you will be taking your business elsewhere specifically because of this change.
LOL never go back
Don’t give them business. Let it eat into their profits.
Maybe give 1-800-822-6235 a call and let them know about this. Might also want to reach out to them on Twitter.
i wonder if the owner realizes you have to spend $25 for every free item…
Shoulda asked which other locations he owns and post them in your local rant and rave pages to dive his business down
It’s the great place what would you expect?
Well, if it’s feasible for you, I’d say just go to the next town over. I get it if it’s just too far. TB has been increasing the heck out of their prices, and I would definitely stop ordering from a location if they did this. Just to open a Franchise TB restaurant, you need at least a million dollars net worth with hundreds of thousands in LIQUID capital. Looks like a rich guy passing on the small losses to the not so rich. We can all play the petty game.
I don’t order from locations if they don’t do online ordering. As a vegetarian, I have to sub meat for beans. Ordering online has drastically (well over 95%) reduced mistakes.
So, no online ordering = no business from me.
This happens all the time franchises aren’t required to accept all coupons or participate in app use. My local McDonald’s refuses to honor coupons and app deals all the time.
Wow. I’m not sure how much of an impact that will have, but I’d certainly stop going. Hopefully the other taco bells are not too far for you. Also post a Google review
My taco bell has a fat $6 for every delivery included. So I don’t see how it’s bad for business. On top of don’t they just sub contract with uber or doordash.
why does it matter so much if they don’t do on app ordering, it’s not that deep. It’s just a taco bell and the owner can choose what kind of orders they take, that’s how business works. The franchise owner recognized that it was loosing profit at a rate large enough to hurt the bottom line. No business ever takes profit loss if they can knowingly prevent it. Besides if your going there to pick it up anyway, just leave 5 minutes early and go to the drive trough if you want it so bad. It’s really not that big of a deal. Also everyone is saying to leave a bad review when it is completely in the owners right not to offer that service. Lots of places don’t do online ordering, so is everyone going to leave bad reviews everywhere that doesn’t. It’s stupid to hurt a business like that just because your upset you can’t order from your house. Leave a bad review if the service is truly bad, but it doesn’t make since to hurt someone’s pockets just because you don’t wanna order there. And if it’s really that big of a deal to you, just go somewhere else and don’t give them your money.
Good fucking luck bozo dickhead. Without deals what the fuck is the point of going. All your competitors offer the exact same rewards system
Lol what a greedy idiot
I lived in there for several years. Clear creek taco bell isn’t too far away and is probably the best one in that area. Welcome to the great place
Always thought franchises were bound by certain terms including national promos. I guess some go rogue.
My local taco bell is a combination with KFC. They’ve never been on the app. The next closest store is a whole city away, with busy ass roads. So no online deals for me.
That would absolutely be the last time I went to any of them.
My local Taco Bell no longer takes credit cards in the drive thru. Has anyone else seen this?
Hell I can’t even figure out how to use my rewards…
Wow. What an asshole. I hope his stores all shut down.
Report them to head office
My local Wendy’s tried this too, in the long run I think they realized it hurt them. They finally switched back. Owner was an idiot
Man, I always loved the Cove location when I lived there. No way I’d drive all the way to Clear Creek just for some TB. Just switch to Canes I guess.
Dang I was at Hood for almost four years, and I would have flipped if I couldn’t order ahead for my buddies and me. R.I.P.
hm is the tacopass still available?
Just go to Killeen
It might get too busy for the amount of staff they have when app is on. Honestly, I wish they would turn off the Starbucks app in my town when they are short workers. Otherwise it’s 20+ min of staring at the poor baristas bc 90% of us ordered on app while they’re trying to take in store orders at the same time.
Something tells me this goes against their franchise contract with TB corporation.. not 100% sure tho.
