Delicious CHILI and CORNBREAD Waffles

Hey y’all! The weather is getting cooler…FINALLY…so you know it’s time for some more chili!! This is a super simple chili recipe that is perfect to put over waffles or to use in frito pie! Heck, you can just eat a bowl if you want. And the longer you let it simmer, the better it is!

CHILI:
1 onion, diced
2 or 2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 (15oz) cans tomato sauce
1/2 can water
2 pkts chili seasoning
Cornbread mix of your choice
Toppings of your choice

Brown meat and onion, drain. Add the garlic and cook about a minute. Add in the tomato sauce, water and seasoning packs. Stir well, bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook at least 30 minutes…the longer it cooks, the better it will be. Make your cornbread according to the box/pkg directions. If using Jiffy, it will make 6 waffles on a mini waffle maker. You could also use a big waffle maker if you’re making for a bunch of people. Put chili over the waffle and then top with your favorite toppings!
