This happens a lot in the US at many “Mexican” restaurants, they modify the original plate and still call it by the original name…the fish might be good and tasty if it had a different name though.
Taking this dish as an example, it is most likely good had she call it corn salad or something like that…but as a “pozole” it really sucks!

My family does make pozole with all the toppings and chile served on the side to add as you please. We never put cilantro in pozole, or pickled peppers, no avocado either.
We had shredded cabbage, sliced radish, oregano, limes, diced onions and those crunchy tortillas. My dad is from Michoacan and taught my mom who is from New Mexico how to cook authentic Mexican food as he knows it from there
