Pupusas 🤤
I would eat all of it!
Looks delicious!
A long time ago, I used to go to this small Salvadoran restaurant in Phoenix for pupusas and chiles rellenos, some of the best food I ever had, and included an awesome abuelita cooking. Also, curtido is seriously underrated.
Should post on r/foodporn
Worked with a guy from El Salvador he said the food is spicy AF! Still on my list of food to try.
There are really a lot of similitudes in some dishes. Clearly they are different in the result, but darn, I am always happy to eat them all.
As a Mexican, I love Salvadoran food!
I love pupusas with extra curtido! Yum 🤤
Pupusas are always welcome everywhere.
I love huachinango
I love pupusas.
There’s a decent amount of overlap. Countries can share culture, same blood and genetics – lot of native background around there, for instance, among the other cultural backgrounds of LatAm. It’s like tamales – so many latin countries have their own version and claim it with diff names when really, tamales aren’t Mexican or from any country, they are a Native American food predating modern nations.
Either way, looks sabroso. Just needs to be drenched in salsa for me along with a good miche.
The fried fish with rice and green salad with mayonnaise is something that you can typically find in places like puerto Progreso, Yucatan. So at least that part hits close to home for me.
Se me antojo todo 🤤🤤
Try pan con pavo, you will not regret it. It’s slow cooked turkey served in a sandwich roll accompanied by turkey jus. It’s 👌🏼 (can also be had using chicken)
Looks good 😊
What’s the little pink stuff in the baggie?
Looks good!
Mojarra
My only complaint about this little Salvadoran restaurant is that they keep it so warm inside that I have to take the food to go. I live in Wisconsin and last night it was above freezing, 37 degrees, but the clock / thermostat inside the restaurant said it was 80 degrees indoors. I was just roasting and sweating up a storm. My northern ass doesn’t like the heat that isn’t in the form of hot sauce haha
I see zero difference between Mexican pescado frito and Salvadorian pescado frito.
The fish looks exactly what it would be served like here in Mexico City. Except it would have lime instead of lemon.
Mods can’t tell the difference, so it’s ok.
Your right its not mexican but who cares, this fish looks amazing, im a huge fan of papusas as well
That looks so good😭
As a Mexican, the only thing that offends me about this post is that I am not eating one of this right now!
Even though it’s not the right sub, please don’t delete thr beautiful pupusa…that fish looks good too
Mexicans looooove pupusas. There used to be a place in South Gate, Ca that had the BEST pupusas (imo) but they closed 😩
Fucking love pupussies
I LOVE pupusas.
