We used this last year and forgot to proper clean it out. We used dish soap, Pink Stuff, baking soda and vinegar to clean it out and it looks like this now?
Should I just get a new steamer?

I’d just scrub the shit out of it and use it if need be. But there are a crap ton of tamale pots everywhere right now if you decide to get a freshy.

Yes just clean it well at the end the tamales will be wrapped on the leaf (don’t know if you are doing with elite or banana leaf) Ande the water won’t touch them, btw almost all the mexican grand mothers use a “vaporera” in the same conditions as yours to make tamales.
It fine. Mine was like that . I got most of the burnt stuff off but don’t let that stop you!
