All right welcome back to facts on doors we are in the kitchen today making a good old-fashioned venison chili now this is my favorite chili recipe for several reasons it tastes delicious and it is super easy yes I know when you’re talking about making chili you can go
You know stuff from your garden stuff that you grew all that kind of stuff I try to make this as simple as possible so besides the venison just about every ingredient we have for you can get at Walmart or your everyday grocery store so this is a very simple recipe but
Again I’ve tweaked some things added some things that you might not necessarily think of when you think of chili but I think it comes out with a really good really good recipe thank you all right we will put a list of all the ingredients below here but you got your
Meat you got your vegetables and you got some cans of stuff to go in the chili we’re gonna start off by Browning that ground venison any kind of panel do in any way you want to ground it one thing I recommend is I call it the meat Masher
I’ll put a link to the Amazon link for this but uh if you’re cooking ground meat this thing is awesome if you want if you want it like really fine and broken up this thing is awesome to do that so like I said I’ll put a link below to check it out foreign
And get that added to the oil in the pot and we’re gonna really get started here all right so we got our onion here we are just going to chop it peel it get it ready to go if you want them a little chunkier you want to chop them up by
Hand you can do so I certainly like using the food processor uh get them chopped up and diced up really good and then they just kind of they kind of melt into the chili when you do it like this oh onions every time just kill me all right
So when it comes to Peppers it’s all a preference right so I always go one full jalapeno and at least a half if not a full poblano pepper if you want more heat get a hotter pepper if you want less heat maybe do half jalapeno half
Poblano you can do away with a poblano whatever kind of flavor profile you want but what I do is about a full jalapeno half poblano all right so now we’re just we are going to seed these Peppers though so uh yeah open them up get them cleaned out get
The seeds out um if you want more spice you might want to add the seeds I’m more of a flavor person so uh I go no seeds um and don’t try and cut Peppers this fast this is uh the beauty of Technology we sped this up a little bit so you
Don’t have to watch the actual speed of cutting Peppers uh we don’t want you to lose your finger so don’t try and match the speed on this but get them chopped up and ready to be added into the chili again it’s a preference as far as if you
Want a larger chunkier or if you want them diced a little bit smaller all right so we got everything just about ready peppers are chopped up onions are chopped up they are in the pot what we’re gonna do first we’re gonna put some oil in there we’re gonna
Cook those onions down until they’re nice and translucent then we’re gonna start adding everything else the venison the chili powder the peppers the beans the tomatoes uh and the oregano and then we’re gonna add my little secret here I would call it a half a jar of spaghetti
Sauce whatever you like I use Prego because it’s expensive uh we’re gonna add that it adds a little bit of an extra flavor and a different consistency to the chili that that I’ve just really grown to love and then also you can add some hot sauce if you want to cook it
Down I use Frank’s hot sauce uh depends on what kind of heat you want out of your chili and then we’re just going to simmer it minimum two hours I like to go two and a half three sometimes a year to four depending on the time of the day
But we’re gonna let this thing go at a low heat and just ride it out so like I said we are taking the remainder of our ingredients and we are just doing a good old-fashioned chili dump be careful with the uh the lid that you’ve cut open but uh yeah you know a
Can of whole tomatoes like I said the ingredients will be listed below I only and always use Bush’s beans I am not sponsored by them at any means I just think that they are the best beans I go one mild and one medium if you want more
Spice go medium if you want even more spice you can go hot they got a couple different options there but my preference is one mild one medium good flavor not too much heat good Foreign like I said you want to go a minimum two hours anywhere between two and four hours you are good to go and then it is time to enjoy that chili all right so there you have it my very simple and easy tasty venison chili recipe I hope
