DIY Rain Buckets!

Easy enough DIY rain buckets with a little YouTube university help. After doing research on my municipal water supply we have chlorine treated water- not chloramines. As I understand it you can leave tap water outside anywhere from 24-72hrs and the chlorine will evaporate and gas off where the chloramines seem to last way longer. What I like about my build here is the screen to keep mosquitos and debris out so I can catch rain. Or with a lack of rain- tap water fill the buckets and let them dechlorinate.

After getting all the stuff to do this I’ve realized that price wise it may be break even as just buying one outright on Amazon. But if I’m going to do that I might as well just buy my peppers too (no knock on either!).

Bucket: Firehouse subs
Bulkhead Fitting: Tractor Supply
Hose Bib, screen, nuts and bolts: Lowe’s

If I had planned out my trips better I could’ve got it all in one store but what’s the fun in that? Hope everyone enjoys their growing season!
