Mutton kofta curry or Mutton kolla urundai is a rich gravy made with minced mutton. A famous and traditional recipe from south india. Sometimes they are made just for the kofta balls/urundai and eaten as is. The gravy adds additional layer of rich taste. Give it a try and let us know how it turned out.
Ingredients:
For Kofta Masala:
1/2 inch Cinnamon stick
4 nos Clove
2 no Cardamom
1 inch Ginger
4 cloves Garlic
4 nos Green chili
1 tsp Fennel Seeds
For Mutton Kola Urundai / Kofta Balls:
2 tbsp Oil
250 g Minced Meat (Grounded mutton)
1 tsp Chili Powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
Freshly grained Kofta masala
1 no Onion medium, finely chopped
2 tbsp Roasted channa dal powder
2 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
oil for frying
For Mutton Kofta curry / Kulambu:
2 tbsp Oil
1 no Cinnamon
3 nos Clove
2 nos Cardamom
1 no Star anise
1/4 tsp Fennel seeds
6 to 8 nos Curry leaves
10 nos Shallots / Small onions (or 2 nos onion, medium)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red chili powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1 no Tomato medium (chopped)
2 cup Water
1 no Kofta Ball (un fried)
2 inch Coconut piece (add 2 tbsp water & grained to paste)
